How did Mitty Start?
Mitty began in 2014, founded by Mitra during one of the most life-changing moments of her life, a kidney transplant.
While recovering in hospital, with plenty of time to reflect and scroll, she discovered the world of nail art on Instagram. It was love at first swipe. From that moment, plain nails were no longer an option. Creativity, colour and self-expression became the new standard.
But there was a problem. Most nail products were packed with harsh chemicals, tested on animals, and damaging to natural nails. Worse still, many simply didn’t work.
So the idea for Mitty was born. If she couldn’t find high-performance, ethical, and safe nail products, she would create them herself.
In 2020, Mitty Salon opened its doors in Melbourne with one clear goal: to set a new standard for nail care.
We were tired of rushed appointments, questionable hygiene, and cookie-cutter customer service. We wanted something better, and we knew our clients did too.
At Mitty Salon, we take pride in doing things properly.
We uphold strict hygiene standards using single-use tools, enforced hand-washing, and zero shortcuts.
Our team delivers warm, personalised service so every client feels heard and cared for.
We focus on nail health, offering services like BIAB, Russian manicures, IBX-style treatments and gentle removal techniques.
Our space is inclusive, welcoming, and celebrates all kinds of beauty.
