BOOKINGS & APPOINTMENTS
How do I book an appointment?
Booking is simple through our website or by calling the salon. We recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred time, especially for detailed services or busy periods.
While walk-ins are welcome when available, booking ahead ensures your appointment time is reserved and allows us to dedicate the right amount of time for your service.
Once booked, you’ll receive a confirmation and any necessary instructions before your visit.
CANCELLATIONS & RESCHEDULING
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to reschedule or cancel, we require at least 48 hours’ notice.
We securely hold your credit card on file when booking, with no upfront deposit taken.
More than 48 hours’ notice: No charge
24–48 hours’ notice: 50% of the booked service
Same day or no-show: 100% of the booked service
This policy helps us respect our team’s time and ensures availability for other clients.
YOUR FIRST VISIT
What can I expect during my first appointment?
You’ll be welcomed into a clean and relaxing salon environment by our friendly team.
Your appointment begins with a consultation so we can understand your preferences, nail goals, and any concerns. Hygiene is always a priority, with sanitised tools and strict cleanliness standards followed throughout your service.
You’ll also be offered a drink while you settle in. Throughout your appointment, your technician will guide you step by step so you always know what to expect.
BIAB & GEL SERVICES
What is BIAB and how long does it last?
BIAB (Builder In A Bottle) is a builder gel applied to natural nails to add strength and structure while maintaining a natural finish. It helps support nail growth and creates a glossy look.
BIAB typically lasts 3 to 4 weeks without chipping.
Who is BIAB suitable for?
BIAB is suitable for most clients, especially those with weak, brittle, or damaged nails or anyone wanting to grow their natural nails. It also helps protect nails and improve overall strength.
Will gel damage my natural nails?
When applied and removed correctly by a professional, gel and BIAB should not damage natural nails. BIAB can actually help protect and strengthen nails.
Damage usually occurs from incorrect removal or picking at the product at home. At Mitty, we always use safe and gentle removal methods.
How long does gel last?
Mitty gel typically lasts 3 to 4 weeks without chipping. After this time, you may notice natural nail growth. With proper care, some clients achieve even longer wear.
Gel is ideal for a long-lasting, glossy finish that stays looking fresh.
What are gel extensions?
Gel extensions are used to add length and strength using gel cured under LED light. They are lightweight, flexible, and natural-looking, and can be created with tips or sculpted without tips.
SPECIALTY SERVICES
What is a Russian manicure?
A Russian manicure uses an electric file to gently clean and refine the cuticle area, allowing polish to be applied closer to the nail edge for a longer-lasting finish. This service is performed only by trained technicians.
Can I get an infill from another salon?
If you have nails from another salon, we generally recommend removal and a fresh set using Mitty products. This ensures product compatibility and allows us to assess nail health properly.
We do offer removal services in salon.
Do you offer nail art?
Yes, we offer nail art ranging from simple designs to detailed hand-painted work. When booking, please select the nail art option or add it as an extra to ensure enough time is allocated.

AFTERCARE
What aftercare do you recommend?
To keep your nails looking their best between appointments, we recommend:
Applying cuticle oil daily
Wearing gloves when cleaning or washing dishes
Avoiding using nails as tools
Not picking or peeling product
Moisturising hands regularly
Booking timely infills or maintenance

EDUCATION & TRAINING
How do you train your team?
Education is central to Mitty. All team members complete training through Mitty Academy, including a structured onboarding program and ongoing weekly education sessions.
We also maintain a skill matrix system and regular assessments to ensure consistency, safety, and high-quality results across every technician.
SAFETY
Does an LED nail lamp cause harm?
Current research shows no clear link between LED nail lamps and cancer, and exposure levels are extremely low compared to everyday sunlight exposure.
At Mitty, we use modern LED lamps designed to minimize exposure and also provide optional hand protection for added peace of mind.
